Switzerland with its vast mountainous areas offers almost unlimited alpine mountaineering objectives for a beginner or developing alpinist. The programs usually involve multiple hut nights mixed with a few nights down in the valleys.

We emphasise learning the skills to gain confidence and keep you safe in alpine climbing. This sets you up with a good base for future mountaineering ambitions.

The valley nights can be spent in Champex, Arolla, Zermatt, Grindelwald, Saas-Grund or many other areas.

The home of alpinism

Chamonix Mountaineering Intro

Aiguille d'Entreves, Mountaineering course, Italian Alps, chamonix climbing, Chamonix, Chamonix mountain guides, Swiss mountaineering

Chamonix is the birth-place of alpinism and modern day mountaineering. Chamonix has the most challenging routes in the Alps, but also great classics for the beginner or less experienced mountaineer. The big draw-card in the Mont-Blanc range is the access to the mountains. One can take the cable cars up to the high alpine peaks and get straight into the alpine climbing.  Brevent, Flegere, Grands Montets, Aiguille du Midi or the Skyway on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc tunnel give direct access to real alpine mountaineering.

We emphasise learning the skills to gain confidence and keep you safe in alpine climbing. This sets you up with a good base for future mountaineering ambitions.

Chamonix alpinism can be valley based, with daily trips to different venues by cable car. A hut night or two can quite easily be built into programs.
