Ski Tour the high Alps
Switzerland with endless peaks, valleys and glaciers clearly has the perfect mountains for ski touring. We offer a number of different hut based itineraries in different parts of Switzerland; we try to offer original routes in quiet areas as well as a few classics. In addition, we do day tours using the lifts to access higher areas more quickly from Verbier, Zermatt or Zinal. We also do heli-touring from Verbier.
The Classic Haute Route starting in Chamonix and ending in Zermatt passes over cols and summits. It’s a 6 day hut to hut trip. It can be overcrowded, so we offer it during the second two weeks of March and first two weeks of May to avoid the worst of the crowds.
The Bernese Oberland with its huge glaciers and high summits makes for a great 6 day hut to hut trip, with the potential to climb many high peaks.
Sustenpass and Grimselpass also offer good starting points for 4 day hut based ski tours.
The tour of the Bernina range is one of the more serious 6 day tours on big glaciers with steep slopes and mountaineering.
